Corey Smith Celebrates Album Release Week

Star behind "Feet Wet" celebrates release of his latest album and first with Sugar Hill Records and with producer Keith Stegall, "While The Gettin' Is Good."

While The Gettin’ Is Good, from singer/songwriter, producer and guitarist Corey Smith, is available now on Sugar Hill Records. The album premiered in the Top 10 on the iTunes country chart this week.

Smith has partnered with several outlets to unveil important elements of this release. Rolling Stone Country exclusively announced the album, while Roughstock premiered the album art and track list, and Country Weekly took the exclusive on the “Feet Wet” lyric video. Now, CMT Pure has added the official video for “Feet Wet” into rotation, it will also premiere on CMT.com.

While The Gettin’ Is Good has garnered early critical praise:

The Boot says, “'Feet Wet' is a feel-good song that explores a perfect summer day, but it’s also deeper than the first listen suggests. Smith’s acoustic guitar and laid-back vibe help get the message across in the catchy tune.”

Rolling Stone Country named his CMA Fest performance the show with the Best Capacity Crowd, and continues, “A perennial favorite on college campuses, the rural-life troubadour excels at detailing the rites of passage his listeners all go through, from spring break trips as kids to soaking at the pool with their own children. While the Gettin' Is Good furthers those themes of growing up — via the sports metaphor of ‘The Baseball Song’ and the home-on-the-couch admission of ‘Ain't Going Out Tonight’ — but through the polished prism of Stegall's focused production.”
The State offers, “The gettin’ has gotten more than good this month for Corey Smith.”

We even celebrated the record, saying “The album may be the biggest project for Smith to date but it most certainly is among the best projects in his career.”

Victoria Advocate says, “Smith is a storyteller in a genre full of buzzwords.”

Smith just wrapped a week of special events in Nashville surrounding the album’s release. He performed a sold-out benefit concert for the Seva Foundation on June 24 at Bluebird Café, and he celebrated release day on the revered Grand Ole Opry stage, complete with an album signing. He will continue his tour throughout the summer with stops in New York City, Chicago, Washington DC and more.
