Scotty McCreery & Grand Ole Opry Team Up

Iconic country institution and rising star team for "Cause for Applause" at local Nashville Children's Hospital.

The Grand Ole Opry and Scotty McCreery continued the Opry’s “Cause For Applause” yesterday, the show’s mission to support nine important causes throughout 2015 as part of its 90th anniversary celebration. April’s cause, “Thank God For Kids,” is a partnership with the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, where yesterday afternoon McCreery performed for children and their families and also shared toys and toy instruments from the Opry’s retail collection. And last night, he was a part of a star-packed, two-show line-up at the Opry that also featured Florida Georgia Line, Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers, and Kellie Pickler, among others.

Throughout April, Opry fans will be able to designate a portion of Opry show and special merchandise (Opry-themed toys and toy musical instruments) sales be given to the hospital when mentioning the code 4THEKIDS. Other activities throughout the month include an online charity auction as well as continued artist and Opry staff visits to the hospital.

Additional causes as part of the 90th celebration include “Salute The Troops” and “Playin’ for A Purpose” and can be found here.
