Country Album Chart Report For April 8, 2015

Darius Rucker debuts at #1 with Southern Style, a strong reach of nearly 52,000 fans sold (which places him at #7 on all-genre the Billboard Hot 200 Albums chart). The album's lead single "Homegrown Honey" hit #1 on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart last week. (Note: Thanks to the release of Southern Style, his last album True Believers has re-charted. It's sold 575,400 to date). Luke Bryan's third week on the chart with Spring Break...Checkin' Out, comes in at #2 while Sam Hunt slides in at the #3 slot on the Country Album Chart Report For April 8, 2015. Luke Bryan's album sales slid only 6% thanks to Easter's annual sales boost and brings sales to154k scanned so far while #3 Sam Hunt's Montevallo has now sold over 426k to date. At #4 is the all-new ACM Awards 50 double disc set from the Now! That's What I Call Music series. It sold nearly 11,000 copies. Rounding out our Top Five on the Country Album Chart Report For April 8, 2015 is Jason Aldean's Old Boots New Dirt with sales now at over 896k to date.

Top Ten Recap

#6 holds the 2015 ACM ZinePak sold exclusively at Walmart Stores while Florida Georgia Line's Anything Goes is now at 606k scanned  to hold down #7. Eric Church's The Outsiders is at #8 with sales at 884k to date while Little Big Town's Pain Killer sits at #9 with sales now at 167k to date. Meanwhile, Carrie Underwood's Greatest Hits: Decade #1 rounds out the Top 10 with sales now at over 320k (which is 640k in the RIAA's minds for certification, so it's only 180k scanned from Platinum, where the dual disc will eventually end up as a catalog release that stays in most brick and mortar retail stores).

Notables

Notables include Chase Rice's Ignite The Night with sales nearly at 210k while Cole Swindell's self-titled album is nearing 350k sold (each single from the project is Gold/Platinum though). Brantley Gilbert's up to over 750k scanned with Just As I Am and will be releasing a special deluxe edition of the album soon. Blake Shelton's Bringing Back The Sunshine and Kenny Chesney's The Big Revival are both around 350k scanned. Meanwhile, Sturgill Simpson's Metamodern Sounds In Country Music continues to find fans and has now sold over 118k without any radio exposure. Finally, Jon Wolfe debuts with Natural Man and Shania Twain's Come On Over gets a look.
Unfortunately there's no news on Home Free, Scotty McCreery or Keith Urban's latest. But if you add roughly 1,000 to their numbers from two weeks ago, that's a good guesstimate where all three's album sales are nearing, which means Urban's FUSE is close to Gold (scanned) and could be certified soon, if it's not already.
