Big Machine Label Group Dominates 2014

Nashville's powerhouse country-focused company ends 2014 as biggest indie label in the world

With hits from multiple music formats on both radio airplay and sales charts the Big Machine Label Group was the top independently-owned record label in the world. Throughout December, Taylor Swift’s 1989 and “Blank Space” topped charts while Tim McGraw’s “Shotgun Rider” hit #1 on the Mediabase country radio chart for four straight weeks. Rising stars Maddie & Tae shot out of a cannon with their debut single “Girl In A Country Song” landing #1 on both Billboard and Mediabase charts while another rising star, RaeLynn, hit #1 on the iTunes Country Singles Chart with her debut single “God Made Girls.

“2014 was another historic and remarkable year for the Big Machine Label Group," says BMLG founder and CEO Scott Borchetta. "Every artist and every staff member boldly stepped up to continue to find ways to win in this increasingly challenging environment. At the end of the day we can’t forget about what’s most important - our artists and the music they make that continues to engage and excite their fans. Without that, this is all for not. Music First… and Music Has Value. The dragon known as 2015 is right in front of us… gotta go, there’s a dragon to slay…”

Borchetta has joined American Idol’s 14th season as the mentor for the contestants (The label will also release the winner’s forthcoming music in partnership with UMG).

Talyor Swift, Florida Georgia Line, The Band Perry, Reba McEntire, Brantley Gilbert, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, RaeLynn, Maddie & Tae and The Eli Young Band are just a handful of the BMLG’s talented roster of stars to have success throughout 2014.
