Martina McBride Signs With NashIcons Music

“I am beyond thrilled by this opportunity to create new music for my fans," expressed Martina.

First, it was Reba McEntire, then there was news that the recording label that's a partnership between the Big Machine Label Group and Cumulus was going to sign Ronnie Dunn (as a solo artist). Now we have the third artist signed to the label (but second officially) after announcing her signing this morning while appearing on The Today Show during a Christmas special.

“I am beyond thrilled by this opportunity to create new music for my fans. This format is breaking new ground and I'm proud to be a part of it. Jim and Scott have creative and fresh ideas and I think it's going to be a blast!” expressed Martina.

McBride, who self-issued the fantastic classic album Everlasting via her own label Vinyl Recordings in March of 2014, was an obvious choice for the new NashIcons Music label. Not only has McBride scored hits in parts of the past four decades but the award-winning vocalist has also previously worked with Scott Borchetta and the BMLG when she recorded and released her 2011 album Eleven (which featured the Top hit "I'm Gonna Love You Through It").

Martina said this morning that she's currently looking for new music and that an album of material will be issued in 2015 via the label.

You know what. I'm going to absolutely love NashIcon. Their roster is turning out incredible! Thank God, I hope they go back to classic Martina like they did with Reba!

We think it's gonna be great for fans of the stars they sign. They'll try to get a hit or two on the big charts but will mostly make new music for fans. So expect it to be more 'classic' than recent output from Martina (though Everlasting was brilliant).
