Old Dominion Tops The Highway’s “Hot 45 Countdown” Chart

Rising band set to join Kenny Chesney’s Stadium Tour in 2015.

While “Shut Me Up” continues to grab momentum on secondary radio markets throughout the USA, the Nashville-based collective Old Dominion is tearing up the satellite radio charts with the single’s follow-up “Break Up With Him.” The song, which is relentlessly charming, was written by each of the five members of Old Dominion, guitarist Brad Tursi, bassist Geoff Sprung, drummer Whit Sellers, multi-instrumentalist Trevor Rosen and lead vocalist Matthew Ramsey. Both songs can be found on the group’s debut release, their self-titled EP, released via their own label ReeSmack Records and distributed through Thirty Tigers.

"Congratulations to Old Dominion for their Number 1 on ‘Break Up With Him’,” notes SiriusXM program director John Marks. “The song is truly a breakout hit - in sales and subscriber passion.  It deserves to be in the top spot!"

The band is also set to tour with Kenny Chensey in 2015 after touring with Chase Rice in the fall of 2014. Known for their unique brand of modern country music, Old Dominion's members have collectively written some of the biggest hits in country music including "Better Dig Two" and "Chainsaw" from The Band Perry, "A Guy Walks Into A Bar" from Tyler Farr and "Say You Do" from Dierks Bentley along with tracks from a who's who of artist including Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Trisha Yearwood.
"It’s really hard to wrap my head around,” said lead singer Matthew Ramsey on "The Highway" Tuesday morning. Ramsey continues, “An independent band on a stadium tour, it’s mind blowing.”
