Dierks Bentley in 2014: The Year Of The Riser

Star builds into a-list superstar on strength of 8th studio album.

When 2014 started out, Dierks Bentley was singing about all the things he holds on to but when it ended, Dierks was living proof that his idea to name his eighth album and subsequent headlining tour Riser was the right choice.

"We put the music first,” Bentley told Billboard, “and when you do that, good things can happen far beyond what you could actually try to make happen.”

He scored a #1 hit with that song about things he olds on to (“I Hold On”) and followed that up with a massively successful party tune called “Drunk On A Plane,” a song that Bentley couldn’t have ever expected to do what it did. It became the song of the summer for 2014. Both songs registered Platinum where Dierks is one of only three country acts (Florida Georgia Line & Luke Bryan are the others) to do so with multiple Platinum hits.

His tour was a success and he even partnered with OneRepublic for a popular episode of CMT Crossroads. and now, Dierks’ isn’t stopping as the album’s third single “Say You Do” is currently rising the charts with many people hoping the brilliant title track for the equally brilliant Riser.
