Craig Wayne Boyd Records Song From Indie Songwriters

The Voice" winner cuts song Blake Shelton's held onto for years and helps give indie writers a huge break.

Many may have never heard of Stephanie Urbina Jones’ name, but this week, America heard her song when Craig Wayne Boyd performed “My Baby’s Got A Smile On Her Face” on the finale of The Voice.

Coached and mentored by superstar Blake Shelton, Boyd first performed the song as his vocal showcase, then sang it again as his competition finale. Shelton said he recommended the song to Boyd because he’s loved the dreamy, romantic ballad since he first heard it.

Boyd has also released a charming music video version of “My Baby’s Got A Smile On Her Face.” All this activity rocketed the song to No. 2 on iTunes.

“It’s my Christmas miracle!” says Urbina Jones, whose fans have dubbed the powerful singer/songwriter “Fiery Angel.” She co-wrote the song with Mark Marchetti.

Urbina Jones has just concluded a week-long, 16-show tour of her home state of Texas, during which she imparted her own brand of the spirit of Christmas to enthusiastic crowds at clubs, children’s hospitals, nursing homes and homeless shelters.

The clamor generated by “My Baby’s Got A Smile On Her Face” comes just as Urbina Jones is entering the final week of her Fiery Angel INDIGOGO campaign to raise funds to put out the album she recorded for a major label but which was never released. Jones was poised to be the first female Latin/American to break through as a country artist in decades.
