Tim McGraw Takes "Shotgun Rider" To No. 1

Single is second #1 from star's "Sundown Heaven Town" album.

Tim McGraw is back at No. 1 this week with his latest single, "Shotgun Rider." Penned by Marv Green, Hillary Lindsey and Troy Verges, the tune marks McGraw's 26th career chart-topping hit.

Some of McGraw's previous No. 1 hits include "Southern Girl," "Highway Don't Care" and "Felt Good On My Lips." "Shotgun Rider" is the singer's first No. 1 hit from his latest album, Sundown Heaven Town.

Continuing to work its way up the charts are Brad Paisley's "Perfect Storm," Randy Houser's "Like A Cowboy," Parmalee's "Close Your Eyes for This," Kenny Chesney's "Til It's Gone," Carrie Underwood's "Something in the Water," Eric Church's "Talladega" and Florida Georgia Line's "Sun Daze," among others.

    that's on the airplay charts he's had 35 on the Hot Country Songs chart since it was Hot Country Singles & Tracks dating to Don't Take The Girl in June 1994 his fastest ascent was It's Your Love which peaked at #1 on hot country singles & tracks the week ending June 7th 1997 staying #1 there for six weeks and #1 on single sales for 16 weeks selling roughly 1.8 million singles in that time and being certified double platinum shortly after and eventually also double platinum as a digital download on December 1st 2009
