It's a massively good week for Nashville as the post-CMA Awards sales numbers not only helped albums sell this week but also the digital singles sales chart and, we only had 10 songs with negative sales reports from the Top 100 downloads, some of those only marginal decreases. Leading our weekly Top 30 rundown, we have Carrie Underwood's "Something In The Water" with a sales boost of over 50k tracks to 84k sold this week. The single has now scanned 366k to date. Tim McGraw's at #2 with "Shotgun Rider" and the single has now sold 186k. Jason Aldean's "Burnin' It Down" slides to #3 although it gained sales over last week. The single has now moved nearly 1.2 million downloads. Little Big Town's "Day Drinking" jumps 184% this week and into the Top 5 with sales now at 484k so it's all but assured to surpass the digital Gold sales mark of 500k next week. Sam Hunt, last week's chart hero, slides from #2 to #5 -- but again, he had a gain in sales of 15% week over week -- with sales now at 758k tracks downloaded.
Top 10 Notes
Florida Georgia Line's "Dirt" is at #6 with sales now over 1.1 million while Keith Urban jumps into the Top 10 with "Somewhere In My Car." The single gained 98% over last week. At #8 is Blake Shelton's "Neon Light." The track, which is his 13th consecutive radio airplay #1 in a row (and 18th overall) is trending towards a Gold certification by early January (if not sooner). Brad Paisley is up 68% this week with "Perfect Storm" and he sits at #9 while the Top 10 rounds out with rising stars Maddie & Tae who now have sold 371k of their debut single "Girl In A Country Song," a song which has hit the radio airplay Top 10.
Notable Track Notes
Lee Brice's "Drinking Class" continues to gain momentum with sales now at 145k, the same can be said for Eric Church's "Talladega," which is actually a hair over 145k at 148k scanned. Dierks Bentley and Lady Antebellum both had Platinum singles with "Drunk On A Plane" and "Bartender," respectively (both were #1 radio hits too) while Frankie Ballard and Luke Bryan both have Gold-eligible singles in "Sunshine & Whiskey" and "Roller Coaster," respectively. RaeLynn sits right ahead of her mentor Miranda Lambert with "God Made Girls" at #20. Lambert's track with Little Big Town," "Smokin' And Drinkin'" debuts at #21 with 16k tracks sold. Blake Shelton's "Lonely Tonight" (Featuring Ashley Monroe) and The Band Perry's "Gentle On My Mind" both join Lambert's song as three of this week's debuts on the chart. Luke Bryan's "Play It Again" was a re-entry as well.
