Kenny Rogers Announces New Tour

Icon to hit Australia and New Zealand for the final time.

Award-winning country music superstar Kenny Rogers has announced that he’ll be hitting the Down Under in January and February for the Farewell Down Under tour, which will include his final concerts in Australia and New Zealand ever.

The tour will begin in Sydney on January 23, 2015 to be followed by shows across the country in Tamworth, Newcastle, Melbourne, Launceston, Gold Coast, Townsville, Perth and Adelaide. Finally, he’ll perform a pair of concerts in Christchurch, New Zealand and finishing up in Hamilton New Zealand on February 15, 2015.

The star has toured the two countries numerous times, from 1973 with the Rolling Through New Zealand Tour to shows with Dolly Parton in 1984 and 1987, with Reba McEntire in 1998 and recent solo jaunts in 2008, 2011, and 2011.

"For all of the traveling I've done around the world, Australia and New Zealand remain two of my favorite places to perform,” Rogers said. "When I was with the First Edition, we made this same trip several times, and no matter how many times I've gone, I've always loved the audiences Down Under. They have a great sense of humor, and they've always treated me with such great respect, so for that, I say thank you.”

While this will be his final time 'down under,' Kenny Rogers will continue to tour in other areas of the world.
