Taylor Swift To Tour in 2015; “1989” album Breaking Records

Star to perform mostly in stadiums worldwide with a few Arena dates in smaller markets.

Superstar Taylor Swift today announced via Twitter that she’d be hitting the road in support of her juggernaut album 1989 starting May 20 in Louisiana.

The 1989 Tour will hit various cities including Amsterdam, Dallas, London and Montreal with rising artists Vance Joy and Shawn Mendes opening various dates. There’s likely to be other guests later on. The tour will mostly hit Stadiums in warmer weather months and cities and arenas in other markets (some of them too small to house major league or college sports teams with stadiums).

The “Blank Space” singer also posted a video in the tweet that featured the star dancing framed as Polaroids. The Polaroids are her ‘branding’ for the 1989 album, which is expected to sell well over 1.3 million or more when final numbers are announced later this week.

The 1989 release, her first all pop album, is set to break records with over 1.3 million copies sold in its first week. That’ll break the record set by Britney Spears for a female artist in 2000 with Oops…I Did It Again. It will also be the most albums sold in one week since’s rapper Eminem’s The Eminem Show. This will mark Swift’s third-consecutive album (with 2010’s Speak Now and 2012’s RED) to surpass 1,000,000 albums sold in the first week of release. 1989 is Swift’s fifth album for Big Machine Records. The album sold over 720,000 copies in two days via Target, Walmart and iTunes, according to Billboard.com.
