Country Album Sales Report: October 8, 2014

Superstar Blake Shelton debuts at #1, see where Lady Antebellum and Lucinda Williams debut.

While Blake Shelton's Bringing Back The Sunshine didn't match his career high of 200k albums sold with Based On A True Story... last year, the album did still sell over 100k copies last week to make it the #1 album in the USA. At #2 is Lady Antebellum's latest 747. It, too, didn't sell as many copies as previous album Golden or even approach the nearly 500k start for Need You Now when it was released in early 2010. Last week's #1 debut, Kenny Chesney's The Big Revival sits at #3 this week with sales now at 168k in those two weeks. George Strait's three week old live album The Cowboy Rides Away: Live From AT&T Field has now sold 87k copies, which is a strong sales number for a live recording. Rounding out the Top 5 is Tim McGraw with Sundown Heaven Town. He's sold 107k copies in three weeks on the chart.

Top Ten Recap

Everyone's still wanting to Crash Luke Bryan's Party as the Crash My Party album sits at #6 with another 9k fans taking home the album. rising from #10 to #7 is Alabama's Angels Among Us: Hymns And Gospel Favorites. The album has a deluxe version available at Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores. Where is Miranda Lambert's CD? Once again she is not included. Funny since Miranda out sold Blake, Kenny, Tim, etc. for first week sales. Was #1 country CD for weeks and in all genre top ten for weeks. She is also currently in the top 50 cds in the country according to HITS Daily Double. Anyway can ya include her since she is really the only country female artist out there and a few of us would like to know about her. Thanks
