Josh Turner Returns with "Lay Low"

The Grand Ole Opry star returns with contemporary sounding single.

Earlier this year, Josh Turner debuted a new book called Man Stuff and proceeded to add "best-selling author" to his resume but while it was cool to add such a lofty title to his resume, Josh Turner had always wanted to return to the country music charts with new music.

With his brand new single "Lay Low," Josh Turner is returning with a new single that showcases a slightly different side to his traditionalist styling. Written by Ross Copperman, Tony Martin and Mark Nesler, "Lay Low" is a contemporary-leaning traditional country song. It may seem oxymoronic to state 'contemporary leaning traditional country song' but that's exactly what Josh Turner offers with the mid-tempo "Lay Low."

With longtime producer Frank Rogers at the helm, Turner's longtime fans are sure to hear a song that will strike their fancy, but don't expect another "Long Black Train" because those aren't the kind of songs that radio is playing but Josh Turner promises he'll still be country, no matter how the song may sound, stating:

"With my voice, I can't be anything but country."

And with "Lay Low" he's still that. A similar artist, Joe Nichols had the same problem over the years and has had one of the best runs at Country radio and digital sales with his latest hits. "Lay Low" definitely heads for the same lane.

"Lay Low" is the lead single from Josh Turner's upcoming album for MCA Nashville.
