2014 Oscar-nominee Levi Hummon today followed in the footsteps of his father, Grammy-winning songwriter Marcus Hummon, to sign a record deal as a recording artist. While Marcus was an artist over 20 years ago for Columbia Nashville, Levi’s now signed to The Valory Music Company where Scott Borchetta is excited about the 23 year old Levi’s potential.

Levi’s unique vision and incredible artistry is exactly the kind of musical move we want to make now. This is a very significant artist signing.”
Levi’s unique songwriting and artist development can be seen in his early lessons about the craft of music making from both his father Marcus and his mother, the philanthropic minister Becca Stevens, who launched the socially conscious Thistle Farms. Levi has often performed with his father througouht the years (most recently this past summer’s CMA Music Festival) and has honed his craft recently through co-writes with top songwriters like 2014’s ACM Songwriter of the Year Shane McAnally, Andrew Dorff, Jonathan Singleton, Brandy Clark, Trevor Rosen, Josh Osborne and Hall of Fame songwriter Desmond Child, the award-winning songwriter who released a film about the birth of his children. “Two: The Story of Roman & Nero” featured “Make It Love,” the Oscar-nominated song which was up for "Best Original Song" at the 2014 ceremony.

Levi will soon begin working on his debut project to be released in 2015.
