The Top 30 Digital Singles - August 20, 2014

This Week's Top 30 Digital Singles sales report features a lot of Sam Hunt.

The Top 10 from last week is virtually the same once again with the top 3 songs remaining in the same slots. For the fourth week in a row, Jason Aldean is "Burnin' It Down" at the #1 slot. The track is now officially Gold Eligible (it's at 499k tracks sold as of this report but has sold over that by now, surely). Florida Georgia Line's "Dirt" is at #2 with sales now over 600k, the same which can be sad about #3 single "American Kids" from Kenny Chesney. At #4 is Dierks Bentley's current radio airplay #1 "Drunk On A Plane." The single is now well on its way to Platinum (it surpassed 800k scanned this week. At #5 is last week's #4, "Hey Bartender" from Lady Antebellum. The tune has now been sold over 700,000 times.

Top 10 Notes

The first of all 4 tracks from Sam Hunt's EP X2C to hit the charts this week is "Leave The Night On," his debut single for MCA Nashville. The singer has now sold 329,000 copies of the single since releasing it in June. Lee Brice's "I Don't Dance" is at #7 with sales now less than 120k away from Platinum. This week's "Riser Of The Week" belongs to Cole Swindell's "Hope You Get Lonely Tonight" single. It's up six slots this week to crack the Top 10 for the first time in a long time. The track has now scaned 458k to date to make it nearly his second Gold or better single after breakout hit "Chillin' It." sitting at #9 is Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood's "Somethin' Bad" hit. The single has now sold 616k to date. Rounding out the Top 10 is "This Is How We Roll" From Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan. The single is now nearly Double Platinum.

Notable Track Notes

Maddie & Tae rise back up the chart and are placed between Kenny Chesney's new preview track from The Big Revival"Flora-Bama" and Sam Hunt's "Break Up In A Small Town." Maddie & Tae's "Girl In A Country Song" has scanned over 100k to date while Hunt's track is one of three tracks to be between #10 and #31. The other tracks from him are "Ex To See" and "House Party." It might be the first time a new artist has ever had four songs from the same EP (all 4 of them) debut in the Top 40 of the Digital Singles chart. "Break Up..." scanned 24k, "Ex To See" scanned 13k and "House Party" scanned just over 12k. The EP Itself debuts at #5 on the Top 10 Country Albums chart.

  • Lee Brice "Drinkin' Class" debuts at #34 with 11k tracks sold
  • Brad Paisley "Crushin' It" debuts at #37 with 10k tracks sold
  • All 4 the new tracks from Luke Bryan's deluxe edition of Crash My Party debut in the Top 60.
  • Scotty McCreery "Feelin' It" sits at #43 with 8k scanned this week for a total of 111k tracks sold.
  • Sam Hunt's Pre-MCA single "Raised On It" sits at #89 this week with sales of 94k to date.
