Always on the lookout for something new and fresh to share with y’all, we’ve recently come across this newcomer, April Kry. The up and coming singer/songwriter first started singing in Church — don’t they all? — where her father was a worship leader and by the age of 13 she was performing at functions like a Gala where she sang “God Bless America,” the pivotal moment in her career.
From that moment, April learned to play guitar and write songs and she moved to Nashville to follow her dream to become a singer. This song, “Beauty Queen,” is April’s debut single and it follows the story of a local southern beauty from a broken down town near Memphis, Tennessee. She wants to get out of that dead end life and basically that’s where we get the story for this new single and music video. The song was written by Jennifer Pappas, JP Rende and Kathryn Raio and is one of several songs April will release on her upcoming EP.
