Country Music's Top 10 Albums: The Week of May 8, 2014

The Top 5 remains virtually unchanged but we do have some new updates on albums that haven't been updated in the past few months (or ever)!

This week we’ll be bringing you just albums inside the Top 200 SoundScan and Billboard chart with some updates on albums we’ve not talked about for months!

This week’s Top 5 artists remains (nearly) the same as last week, just slightly re-ordered with Luke Bryan #1 with “Crash My Party,” Florida Georgia Line #2 with “Here’s To The Good Times,” Eric Church’s “The Outsiders” at #3, Blake Shelton’s “Based On A True Story” at #4 and Johnny Cash’s “Out Among The Stars” at #5.

Dan+Shay, Nashville Cast, Dierks Bentley, Cole Swindell, and Keith Urban round out Top 10.

The second half of the Top 10 albums this week includes Keith Urban’s “FUSE,” an album which gained 101% this week thanks to a performance on American Idol. The album has sold 335k to date. The Nashville Cast’s live album “On The Record” is at #7, Cole Swindell’s self-titled album is #8, Dan+Shay’s “Where It All Began” is at #9 and rounding out the Top 10 is a “riser of the week,” Dierks Bentley’s “Riser.”

Notable albums include George Strait’s “Love Is Everything,” Johnny Cash’s “Legend Of Johnny Cash,” and previous albums from Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan and more!

“The Legend Of Johnny Cash” has now sold 3.166 million copies to date and is one of the USA’s most-consistent catalog albums the past year or so. Nickel Creek’s “A Dotted Line,” a song which has sold 47k albums to date for their ‘comeback’ recording. Blake Shelton’s “Loaded: The Best Of Blake Shelton” has now sold 884k to date (it will eventually be his fourth Platinum album after “Red River Blue,” “Based On A True Story” and his most-recent certification, “Blake Shelton,” his debut from 2001. Luke Bryan’s “Tailgates & Tanlines” is alos on our rundown this week as is George Strait’s “Love Is Everything!” Finally, we have the latest records from Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett as well as Hunter Hayes, who will debut at #1 on our chart next week with “Storyline,” an album which should shift north of 70k in the first week on the sales chart.
