Tyler Farr Scores First Award Nomination

Tyler Farr broke out last summer with "Redneck Crazy" and the singer recently earned a big first in his career thanks to CMT.

The past year has been a lot of firsts for Tyler Farr, and this week he adds one more to that list. Farr received his very first award nomination when the CMT Awards named the singer as one of their Breakthrough Video of the Year nominees for "Redneck Crazy."

Directed by Jeff Venable, the stand out video has 11.5 million views combined and features a series of cameo appearances from friends, including Willie Robertson, Lee Brice and Colt Ford.

Farr's debut album, Redneck Crazy, marked the biggest debut by a new male country artist since 2011. Earlier this year, he was recognized by CRS’ 2014 New Faces of Country Music. His current single, “Whiskey in My Water,” is currently Top 15-and-climbing at country radio. This summer, Farr can be found on the road with Jason Aldean on the superstar's Burn It Down Tour, also featuring Florida Georgia Line.

The fan-voted award will be announced on Wednesday, June 4 during the 2014 CMT Music Awards, airing live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena at 8:00PM ET.  Voting begins now at CMT.com and continues until Sunday, June 1 at midnight ET.
