Lee Ann Womack Unveils New Single "The Way I'm Livin'"

Lee Ann Womack's talent is on display on her new single from her The Way I'm Livin', her first album to be released under a new record deal with Sugar Hill Records in Nashville.

The wait for new Lee Ann Womack music is finally drawing to an end with the September 23 release of her seventh studio album The Way I'm Livin'. Womack whets fan appetites with the premiere of the album's title track via Wall Street Journal's Speakeasy blog.

"The Way I'm Livin'" is written by Grammy-nominated songwriter Adam Wright. In explaining what attracted her to the rootsy Country song, Womack explains, "It was raw and real, and, well, unrepentant." She goes on to say, “Real roots music, whether it’s country or bluegrass, the blues, even rock, is about hitting a nerve. You can’t not react. It’s not an easy thing to do, but man, this song hit me the first time I heard it, and it hits me every time I sing it, hear it or even think about it."

Womack had originally planned to release The Way I'm Livin' in 2012, but the release was delayed due to her parting ways with MCA Records. This past April, Womack signed a new record deal with Sugar Hill Records, which led to the album finally getting a release date.
