Martina McBride is showing that she has a big heart as well as a big voice with her charitable organization Team Martina, which has launched a campaign to help Guatemalan orphans get musical instruments.
Online fundraising has already launched for the Everlasting Music For Kids program, which has raised over $25,000 thus far. These funds will provide care and music programs to kids at Covenant Home International, a facility which provides care and housing for young girls in Guatemala who have been orphaned, abandoned, abused, or victims of human trafficking. McBride's program aims to provide music classes and instruments for girls between the ages of nine and fifteen who live at Covenant House.
“Having visited Covenant House earlier this year and seen firsthand the great work they do for teens, I’m excited about this new project,” says the four-time CMA Female Vocalist Of The Year. “I know as well as anyone how music can change lives. It makes me happy to think music is going to be introduced to a group of young girls who can truly benefit from it.”
