Brantley Gilbert Dominates Country Album sales this week with 212,000 fans taking home “Just As I Am.” The Biggest sales week of his career and one of 2014’s best (in all genres).
Brantley Gilbert’s career soared with Halfway To Heaven when it was released in 2010. Re-issued with bonus tracks by The Valory Music Co. in 2012 helped the album spring a couple #1 hits, platinum and Gold singles and eventually a Platinum certification. It seems as if the new headliner has earned that status as his latest “Just As I Am” is now the 2nd best opening week in Country music in 2014 with 212k albums purchased last week. That’s just behind Eric Church’s 288k for “The Outsiders” earlier this year and the third-best number in all of music for 2014, behind this week’s Coldplay release of “Ghost Stories,” which sold 388k in its first week. Last week’s #1 album, Rascal Flatts’ “Rewind” moves another 22k this week to give them 83k after two weeks in stores. sitting at #3 this week is FLorida Georgia Line’s “Here’s To The Good Times” while Luke Bryan’s “Crash My Party” is at #4. Hunter Hayes rounds out the Top 5 with “Storyline.”
Eric Church’s “The Outsiders” Mud Digger 5 compilation album land in Top 10.
Eric Church once again finds the best-selling country album from 2014 inside the Top 10 albums this week with his latest chart-topping album “The Outsiders.” The star is followed by Dolly Parton’s latest, “Blue Smoke.” Average Joes Entertainment’s latest subculture album “Mud Digger 5,” a soundtrack for the mud-boggin’ folks, debuts at #8 and features LoCash Cowboys, Colt Ford, The Lacs and newcomer Sarah Ross. Meanwhile, #9 holds Dierks Bentley’s “Riser” and #10 holds Blake Shelton’s “Based On A True Story….”
George Strait nearing Gold for “Love is Everything” album.
Cole Swindell’s album rises up the charts this week to lead our notable albums and is the #11 Country album in the USA (at #50). This gives Country music more than ...- of the Top 50 albums from all genres, not too shabby. We next find Jake Owen’s “Days Of Gold,” Justin Moore’s “Off The Beaten Path” and George Strait’s nearly Gold “Love Is Everything.” The album is less than 75k away from Gold and will eventually get there, even if it takes another 40 weeks. Rounding out our rundown of notables is Miranda Lambert’s previous album. “Four The Record” has now nearly scanned Platinum and could very well scan past that number next week, the week her follow-up album, titled “Platinum,” hits stores.
Other Ablum notes: Jerrod Niemann’s “High Noon” has moved 45k in 9 weeks, while Zac Brown Band’s “You Get What You Give” has sold over 1.85 million, “The Foundation” has sold nearly 3.3 million and their third album, “Uncaged,” has scanned over 1.07 million copies to date. Nickel Creek “A Dotted Line” has sold 56k and Scotty McCreery’s album has sold 1,700 more copies to bring sales totals to 233k to date!
