It was over a week ago but we’ve finally got the post-ACM Awards show sales numbers and boy, did they help out the Digital sales chart performance for Performers and winners from the program.
Luke Bryan leads the way this week -- Again -- with “Play It Again.” The single, which only hit Gold last week (only being relative) is already up over 620k sold run to date (RTD) as he gained over 20k in sales from last week (and is still top 10 in all genres with the single). #2 also features Luke Bryan but it’s for the Florida Georgia Line song “This Is How We Roll.” The duo and Luke have now sold 857k copies of the single since it hit stores 21 weeks ago. “Bottom’s Up,” Brantley Gilbert’s lead single from his upcoming album, has sold nearly 1,000,000 downloads and is no doubt eligible to be certified Platinum (and certainly will be by the end of the month when the RIAA reports the monthly certifications. Miranda Lambert’s “Automatic” scored an impressive 63% bump due to ACM Awards performance of the track and she’s now sold 237k copies of the single that leads off the buzzworthy upcoming Platinum. Lambert is followed by fellow ACM performer, Eric Church, whose “Give Me Back My Hometown” just missed scanning Platinum (but has done so most certainly by this time this week but will be reported next week).
Keith Urban, Thomas Rhett Break Gold With “Cop Car” and “Get Me some Of That,” Tim McGraw’s “Meanwhile Back At Mama’s Debuts At #9 thanks to ACM Performance of the track which features Faith Hill.
Keith Urban’s streak of Gold singles continues as the song is now RIAA Eligible for digital downloads for his latest hit single “Cop Car” and certainly will also be awarded to songwriter Sam Hunt (who wasn’t happy with Urban’s single choice originally but certainly should be now with the monetary success it has achieved for him and his co-writers, even if he may have wanted it as his own single). at #7 is this weeks’ Billboard Country Airplay #1 hit, “Drink To That All Night” From Jerrod Niemann. The song has now sold 576k downloads to date. Next up is “Rewind” from Rascal Flatts at #8. The single has moved 388k to date and gained a sales bump of 18% despite the “controversy” surrounding their lip-synched ACM performance of the song. Meanwhile Back At Mama’s” debuts at #9 for Tim McGraw (though Sunday sales alone brought in 6k for the track. He sold 33k this past week for the new single from his upcoming sophomore album on McGraw Music/Big Machine Records. Rounding out the Top 10 this week is Jake Owen’s latest hit, “Beachin’.” The single has sold 237k downloads to date.
Dan+Shay score first Gold Single with “19 You + Me,” Luke Bryan’s “Drink A Beer” and Florida Georgia Line’s “Stay” reach Platinum; Brad Paisley’s “River Bank” Debuts.
The notable section this week starts off with the #11 Country single, Dan+Shay’s “19 You + Me.” The song (which isn’t even a Top 10 Airplay hit yet) has crossed the 500k download threshold to be eligible for their first Gold-certification, this on the heels of their first album Where It All Began debuting at #1 on the Top Country Albums Sales chart. Blake Shelton’s “Doin’ What She Likes” is less than 40k downloads (roughly 2-3 weeks away) from Gold certification while Thomas Rhett also scored his second RIAA Gold (or Platinum) single with “Get Me Some of That.” His first #1 hit, “It Goes Like This” hit Gold and then Platinum last year. Justin Moore and Brett Eldredge both performed on the ACM Awards and saw a sales bump, the same which can be said about George Strait’s latet single, “I Got A Car,” which makes its Top 30 Debut this week at #18 (it was #35 last week on the strength of the Sunday sales alone). Also, Brad Paisley’s “River Bank” makes it’s Top 30 debut (at #19) after his performance of the single on the ACM Awards (a 375% sales increase). He’s sold over 25k singles to date. Finally, notable is Frankie Ballard at #29 with “Helluva Life.” Up 23% this week, the single has now sold 470k downloads and is only a couple of weeks (like Blake, 2-3) away from scoring Gold, which would be a first for the Warner Brothers Nashville singer (the track hit #1 earlier this year at radio).
