Cole Swindell Honored With Gold and Platinum Awards For #1 "Chillin' It" Single

Busy newcomer takes time to accept awards for his debut hit after song sells over 1,000,000 tracks.

Rising star Cole Swindell celebrated his “Chillin’ It” being certified Gold and Platinum by the RIAA (the Gold certification was the first RIAA Certification of any artist for all genres in 2014).

The celebration — pictured above — took place at his taping for CMT’s Listen Up program on Monday, April 22. Swindell’s debut single first appeared on our radar in 2013 via SiriusXM and eventually the singer was signed to Warner Music Nashville who ultimately helped “Chillin’ It” hit #1 and Cole’s subsequent debut album — self-titled — has become 2014’s best-selling debut album (to date).  The album also features Cole’s rising hit “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight.”

“You only get a first single once,” said Cole about the exciting milestone. “The fact that it was accepted by not only radio but over one million fans is beyond anything I could ever have dreamed up and this is something I will never forget!”
