Ray Price "Beauty Is..." Gives Late Hall Of Famer Best Chart Debut In 30 Years

The late Ray Price Places high on Country album sales chart with the final album recorded in his lifetime.

Beauty Is... The Final Sessions, Ray Price's final studio album before his death in December 2013 enters the Billboard Country Album Chart at #22, marking the late legend's best debut week since 1981's Town & Country (#17).

Copies of Beauty Is... sold out on Walmart.com in less than 25 hours, while the album was the top country album download on Amazon.com and has reached the Top 30 on iTunes. In the first week of promotion, 75 Country Radio stations internationally (including Japan and Belgium) have begun spinning the lead single "Blues Lies In The Eyes."

Price was also the subject of a special tribute at last Thursday's Opry Country Classics performance at the Ryman Auditorium, which featured performances and memories from Larry Gatlin, Lynn Anderson, The Oak Ridge Boys,  Chris Janson, Mary Sarah and WSM host Eddie Stubbs.

“He loved his fans so much," said Janie Price. "He loved me, but man did he love his fans. He’s singing these songs for each of them.”
