Miranda Lambert Records "Something Bad," A Duet With Carrie Underwood For Upcoming "Platinum" Album

There's some big news in the Country music world today as the ladies prove they can collaborate just as much as the guys do as Miranda Lambert partners with Carrie Underwood for a new track on her upcoming fifth album, Platinum. Get the full scoop and see the cover art here!

Miranda Lambert Today announced the release date for her upcoming album Platinum. The album, which will be released June 3, 2014, features 16 tracks and while some fans have been waiting a long while for the record, Miranda felt it was the right time to take a breather, after all, she did release Annie Up, her second trio album with the Pistol Annies last year.

"From the day you kinda go I need to start looking for songs and writing songs, it feels like no matter how much time you have, you're rushed," Lambert told the AP’s Chris Talbott. "And so I didn't want to rush it at all. To me it's all about timing and making sure that you can feel like you can finally sit there and go, OK, the album's done, and never have a moment where you go, I wish we could change that or I wish we had a different song."

The album is said by Talbott to be her “most ambitious album yet” with half of the tracks being written by the singer and the others, are said to reflect her personality or world view, in other words, not unlike her previous records. Songs have titles like “Priscilla,” “Bathroom Mirror” and “Something Bad.”

The big news, “Something Bad” is a duet with Carrie Underwood. This latter bit shows how much Country music remains a tight-knit community, even if there’s a perception about the opposite.

Platinum’s lead single is “Automatic,” which talks about taking the time to enjoy life and not live on auto-pilot so much.

Look for Roughstock to continue to bring news about the album and — of course — the special duet with Carrie Underwood, a song we suspect will also end up on her album and may be a future single.
