Singer-songwriter Jeffrey Steele hosted his 7th annual Jeffrey Steele & Friends concert this past Tuesday (March 11) at the Franklin Theatre in Franklin, Tenn., benefiting the Alex LeVasseur Memorial Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

Alex LeVasseur, Steele's 13 year old son who lost his life in 2007 following a tragic ATV accident, was the core of the cause that drew out many of the hit songwriter's closest friends and entertainers, including the LoCash Cowboys, Chris Janson, Montgomery Gentry, Steve Cropper, The Shuggah Pies and Adam James.

Proceeds raised throughout the evening will help overlooked and underprivileged youth by motivating them in school and in life. Steele and his family created the Alex LeVasseur Memorial Fund at The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee in honor of Alex, and remain very involved with the program that has already made a significant impact on its participants.

"We've been part of this event every year, and it just keeps getting better, bigger and more special each year," LoCash Cowboys' Preston Brust tells Roughstock. "It's incredible to see the impact that Steeley, Alex and the family have on the community and the industry."

A portion of the evening’s proceeds also benefited The Beat of Life, an organization that provides therapeutic music programs to human/social service organizations and populations in need throughout Nashville that cannot otherwise afford it through the mobilization of Nashville’s talent and resources. The event will also feature a live auction.
