With The Cadillac Three consisting of only three members, it is crucial that they carry their weight. When it comes to Kelby, Neil and Jaren, they go above and beyond the call of duty!

"Kelby is our lap steel/bass player," lead vocalist Jaren Johnston tells Roughstock. "He plays bass through a lap steel, as well as a regular lap steel, so he's playing double duty there. Neil's probably the only drummer in country music who plays like Dave Grohl. He plays really hard. I just do my thing and try to get as crazy as possible with the heaviest riffs I can come up with in country music [laughs]!"

So what is their secret to meshing so well together? That's easy! It's because they grew up together and are life-long childhood friends.

"We all three grew up together here in Nashville, Tenn," explains Johnston. "We were all born here and raised here. We went to school together. We all just played in bands from about 13 or 14 years old on up. We were always playing in different bands. We've just been doing it forever. We finally started this one after our old band, American Bang, left Warner Bros."

The Cadillac Three just wrapped a string of shows in Europe with Eric Church, and are gearing up to now hit the road with Jake Owen on his Days of Gold Tour. The band's national debut single, "The South" is at radio now.
