While he's anticipating the arrival of his third child and serving as a headliner on his Off the Beaten Path Tour, Justin Moore knows deep down that the arrival of his next album is in the future. So has he started working on that project yet?
"Noooooo!" laughs Moore. "I probably need to. I am going to start writing. I haven't written much. I'm not one of those guys who writes every day. I kind of write for albums. I am going to start having some guys come out on the road and write with me. That will kind of get the juices flowing as far as thinking about the next album."
However, Moore recently found out that he's not the only hitmaker who thinks like that. "I was talking to Eric Church about it one day, and he is kind of like me," notes Moore. "I do an album every couple of years, and then I don't even want to think about doing an album right after you put one out. We're on the second single with this one, so you've got to at least start thinking about it a little bit, but I haven't yet. If that was my job, solely, and if I was just a songwriter, obviousy I could make myself do it, but I have the luxury of writing for a specific reason. I feel pretty comfortable the way we do it. So far it's worked out alright."
Moore's latest single, "Lettin' the Night Roll," is at radio now.
