Alabama-born Blaster Records recording artist Allison Veltz releases her debut single, the upbeat "Bright Side," to Country Radio this week. In addition, Veltz is preparing for several upcoming showcase performances, including one at New York's Rockwood Music Hall.

"Bright Side" was written by Veltz with her creative partner, ASCAP Award-winning tunesmith Dan Muckala. The single is produced by Muckala with top Nashville producer Mark Bright, known for his work with Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, RebaMcEntire, and Sara Evans.

"I have lived this song so many times in my life,” Allison says of the song.  “If you've hit the bottom you can stay there or you can choose to move. Sometimes it's a beautiful act of defiance to look at the bright side.”

Alison Veltz was born to a traveling musical family in Mobile, Alabama. She began singing at the tender age of four, and also learned to play guitar and mandolin. Her musical style was shaped by diverse array of influences ranging from Jason Mrazand Tom Petty to Alison Krauss, Nickel Creek, and the Dixie Chicks.

She was discovered by Mark Bright in 2010, while she was working as a singing waitress in New York. Bright heard demos that Veltz had posted online, which led to him inviting the young singer to travel to Nashville to meet him, eventually leading to a deal with Blaster Records.

"Bright Side" acts as a preview to Veltz's full-length debut album Alison's Wonderland, scheduled for release later this year, which features eleven intensely personal songs co-written by Veltz. Fans can connect with Alison Veltz via Facebook andTwitter.
