Canadian Country Music star Gord Bamford is setting his sights on the U.S. after already having become a gold and platinum-selling star in his home country. Bamford is preparing for a stateside release of his single "Unreal", which earned Mediabase Most-Added status on the Canadian Country chart, and reaching #2 on the all-genre chart.
"Unreal" is the second single from Country Junkie, Bamford's sixth studio album and second for Sony Canada. The first single, "When Your Lips Are So Close," was recently certified Gold by Music Canada, marking the first Gold single of Bamford's career.
Bamford also enjoyed a number one debut with his album Country Junkie on the Nielson SoundScan Country album sales chart. A U.S. release and promotional support of the album are planned for later this year.
Gord Bamford is a 15-time CCMA winner who has toured with or opened shows for some of Country's biggest stars, most recently including modern genre legend Reba McEntire. Bamford also actively expends energy toward charitable endeavors, recently donating $100,000 last year to children's hospitals. His annual golf classic has raised almost $1.5 million for underprivileged youth and single parent families to date.
