The Grammy-winning album from Kacey Musgraves scores the #1 slot this week, thanks to that Grammy win, performance of “Follow Your Arrow” and Song of the Year winner “Merry Go Round.”
It’s a great week to have appeared on the Grammy Awards (or be nominated) as the albums from such stars like this week’s #1 Kacey Musgraves, rose quite a bit (Kacey was up 170% and a whopping 69 slots on the Hot 200 Albums chart in two weeks time. Three weeks in and Jennifer Nettles stays in the Top 2 with her stunning solo debut That Girl. at #3 is Luke Bryan with Crash My Party. At #4 is Florida Georgia Line with Here’s To The Good Times. Finally, rounding out the Top 5 is Taylor Swift’s RED, an album that’s likely a week away from surprassing 4 million album scanned.
Rosanne Cash, Garth Brooks Join Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton and Hunter Hayes in Top 10.
With 8k more fans taking home The River And The Thread, Rosanne Cash’s return to the charts remains sucessful with 38k total alms sold in 3 weeks for the Blue Note Records/UMG release. Garth Brooks has sold 831k copies of his Walmart-exclusive 8 disc box set in 10 weeks on the charts (since Black Friday 2013). Blake Shelton’s album is up 11% over last week and moved nearly well over 6k (but under 6,500) to land the #8 slot. sitting at #9 this week is Jason Aldean with his Night Train (a Grammy-nominated album). Finally, the Top 10 is rounded out by Hunter Hayes’ self-title debut which has sold nearly 1.1 million copies in 121 weeks on the charts (it’s the oldest country album on the “Current Country Albums” chart.
The 5 Notables include Cassadee Pope’s debut Frame By Frame, and the latest albums from Scotty McCreery, Brandy Clark, Keith Urban and The Band Perry.
Keith Urban’s Fuse benefits from the star’s involvement in the Grammy Awards and has now moved 283k to date. Meanwhile, Vince Gill and Paul Franklin return with Bakersfield, their special tribute to Merle Haggard and Buck Owens which was issuded in a deluxe version at Cracker Barrel stores last week. It moved 625% more than the previous week and has now moved 50k to date. Scotty McCreery remains in our rundown with his album See You Tonight now having moved 195k to date. We round out our rundown with a look at Cassadee Pope’s Frame By Frame which has moved 153k to date and Brandy Clark’s 12 Stories, an album which has moved 20k and had a song featured in the Beats commercial for the Super Bowl. Danielle Bradbery fans, her album has now sold 114k to date after adding another 2k to her totals.
