Country Album Chart News: The Week of February 19, 2014: Eric Church Blows Doors Off The Charts With "The Outsiders", Scotty McCreery Passes 200k

As we expected, Eric Church's The Outsiders debuts in the #1 slot of the Top Albums chart with his latest album The Outsiders. Meanwhile Frankie Ballard debuts with Sunshine & Whiskey and Scotty McCreery's album surpasses the 200k mark. Get all the details of the Top 10 here!

It’s a banner week for Eric Church as The Outsiders outsells every other record in the USA this week with 288k copies of the album in the hands of fans, nearly doubling the first week of his previous release, Chief. Valentines Day helped most of the Top 10 this week with Here’s To The Good Times gaining 7,000 copies over last week’s 14k to sell 21k this week. Luke Bryan’s “Crash My Party” has now sold 1.653 million copies and sits at #3 this week. Jennifer Nettles’ That Girl is at #4 and has sold 113k to date without any really big hits as of yet. Finally, Warner’s Frankie Ballard rounds out the Top 5 with Sunshine & Whiskey. The album moved 11k in its debut week.

Garth Brooks’ Blame It All On My Roots has sold nearly 850k copies and leads the #6-#10 half of the Top 10 albums this week.

Garth Brooks sits at #6 with his Walmart exclusive Blame It All On My Roots. He’s now sold 847k of the box set. Kacey Musgraves is at #7 with the Grammy-winning Same Trailer Different Park while Blake Shelton’s up 47% and to #8 with Based On A True Story. Jason Aldean is at #9 with Night Train while Now Country Ballads Volume 2 rounds out the Top 10.

Thomas Rhett, Scotty McCreery, Cassadee Pope, and Danielle Bradbery lead the notable albums this week.

Eric Church’s prevous 4 albums were bundled into Thomas Rhett is a rising star and has sold 127k copies of his debut album It Goes Like This while new single “Get Me Some Of That” rises the charts. Scotty McCreery’s See You Tonight has surpassed the 200k mark (it’s at 202k) the same week he breaks the Top 10 on the radio airplay charts with the album’s title track. MEanwhile Cassadee Pope’s album is up 47% this week with sales of 3k to bring totals to 158k. Finally, Danielle Bradbery has moved 118k of hr strong new album.
