Traditional Country star Sturgill Simpson is set to release the follow-up to his acclaimed debut album High Top Mountain. Simpson's sophomore set Metamodern Sounds In Country Music will be released May 13 on High Top Mountain Records.

Like his debut, Simpson's new album is produced by his friend and trusted collaborator Dave Cobb. It was recorded live-to-tape at Nashville LCS studio over four days in late 2013, and features Simpson's touring band - bassist Kevin Black, guitarist Laur Joamets and drummer Miles Miller.

Lead single "Living The Dream" recently made its premiere at Paste Magazine, which calls the new album "full of emotion - both sad and fierce," adding that "Sturgill creates nostalgie for country music of days gone by." Click here to hear the song.

Of the album, Simpson comments, “Myriad worldly offerings—religion, drugs, and more—all claim to be the omnipotent universal truth, but in my experience, love is the only certainty. That’s what this record is about.”

Simpson will be promoting the release with appearances at several SXSW showcases, and will be featured on Communion's Club Nights Series. Visit www.sturgillsimpson.com for further information.
