Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line lead the first Top 30 Digital Singles Chart of the new year, Both place multiple tracks within the Top 30 and benefit from Post-holiday gift-card sales.
Two of the top 3 tracks for the past couple of weeks have been Luke Bryan’s “Drink A Beer” and “That’s My Kind Of Night.” “Beer” replaces “Night” at #1 and has sold nearly 500,000 copies since the Crash My Party album was issued 21 weeks ago. “Night” has moved 1.578 million tracks in the same time period and sits at #4 this week. The #2 and #4 slots are held-down by Florida Georgia Line, #2 is “Cruise,” the best-selling Digital Country Single of all-time (surpassing Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now” track). Their current radio chart-topper “Stay” is at #4 with sales now at nearly ¾ of a million downloads. Rounding out this week’s Top 5 is David Nail’s lead single from I’m A Fire, The rising hit “Whatever She’s Got.” the song has now moved 659k copies in 29 weeks on the chart.
Top 10 includes Cassadee Pope “Wasting All These Tears,” Cole Swindell’s “Chillin’ It” and Parmalee’s break-out hit “Carolina.”
Cassadee Pope’s “Wasting All These Tears” sits at #6 this week with sales now at 856k and it’s quite evident that the single will hit Platinum before the single’s run at Country Radio concludes. Sitting at #7 is rising star Cole Swindell with his breakout single “Chillin’ It.” The song has now sold 647k to date and is the first official RIAA-certified Gold single of 2014. The #8 single this week is the current single from Jason Aldean, “When She Says Baby.” The likely final single from Night Train has now moved 324k to date. At #9 is Blake Shelton’s massive hit “Boys Round Here.” The tune has now sold over 2.3 million downloads (in 41 weeks). Rounding out the Top 10 is the Gold-certified #1 single from Parmalee, “Carolina.” It has now moved 647k to date.
Notable Singles Include Brantley Gilbert’s “Bottoms Up,” Frankie Ballard’s “Helluva Life, Scotty McCreery’s “See You Tonight” and Jerrod Niemann’s “Drink To That All Night.”
Darius Rucker’s choice to record OCMS’ “Wagon Wheel” has proven a shrewd one as he’s now moved over 2.55 million copies of the single and will likely surpass 3 million (and Triple Platinum) at some point in 2014. In three weeks, Brantley Gilbert has sold 148k “Bottoms Up” downloads (it debuted at #1 3 weeks ago). The single is followed on our rundown by this week’s #RiserOfTheWeek, Frankie Ballard’s “Helluva Life.” That single has now moved over 212k to date. When we last covered these charts, the “We Were Us” duet from Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert was nearly Gold and in the past two weeks the single has surpassed the Gold certification mark. Jerrod Niemann’s “Drink To That All Night” is up next and jumps back into the Top 30 this week after last week’s post-Christmas gift card sales. The single has now moved 154k to date. Finally, Scotty McCreery has surpassed the 413k mark and is on his way to our Predicted Gold certification with Country radio breakout hit “See You Tonight.”
Other notes include Florida Georgia Line’s “Round Here” and George Strait’s “Give it All We Got Tonight,” Tyler Farr’s “Redneck Crazy,” surpassing 1,000,000 sold, making them RIAA Platinum eligible. Gold-eligible singles now inlcude Lee Brice’s “Parking Lot Party,” Joe Nichols “Sunny & 75,” Keith Urban & Miranda Lambert’s “We Were Us,” Tim McGraw’s “Southern Girl.” Songs within range of Gold, Luke Bryan’s “Drink A Beer,” and Scotty McCreery’s “See You Tonight.” Songs nearing Platinum, Hunter Hayes “Somebody’s Heartbreak,” Carrie Underwood’s “See You Again,” and Hank Williams, Jr.’s “A Country Boy Can Survive.” Songs nearing Double Platinum, Charlie Daniels’ “Devil Went Down To Georgia” (1.935m), Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood’s “Remind Me” (1.925m).
