The new year is shaping up to be quite a great one for newcomer Cole Swindell. Not only will he be hitting the road later in the month with Luke Bryan, but his debut single, "Chillin' It," continues to burn up the charts as well as in sales.
"Chillin' It" has reached gold certification for sales exceeding 500,000 copies sold, which is no shocker considering the song is the highest debuting single released in 2013 by a solo country male artist. The tune is the lead single from his forthcoming self-titled album, due out on February 18.
Before becoming a star of his own, Swindell was having fun being a hit songwriter. His songwriting credits include songs performed by Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett, Scotty McCreery, Florida Georgia Line, Chris Young and Craig Campbell.
