In just a matter of days, country music will take over Las Vegas for the annual American Country Awards show set forDecember 10. Among the many performers will be Thomas Rhett, who is just coming down from having his first ever chart-topping hit with "It Goes Like This."

While he has attended awards shows in the past, this year's ACAs will mark the first time he will perform.

"This will be my first awards show appearance," says Thomas Rhett. "I've been to the CMAs and the ACMs a couple of times, but going to the ACAs will be cool because we actually get to perform this year. You're there with more of a purpose rather than just walking the red carpet. We've talked about set design ideas and how we're going to perform."

Thomas Rhett will also be up for the New Artist of the Year category, facing off with his buddies Florida Georgia Line, Kip Moore and Cassadee Pope.

"To be nominated for New Artist of the Year is an honor," says Thomas Rhett. "That's just the coolest thing in the world, and I'm just honored to be in good company. If I win, that would be awesome. If I don't, I'm just glad I'm in the nominations."

Tune in to see if Thomas Rhett does win when the show broadcasts at 8:00PM ET on FOX.
