Dolly Parton's "Jolene", Kris Kristofferson, & Doc Watson Albums inducted to Grammy Hall of Fame

The Recording Academy has just added 27 new titles to the Grammy Hall Of Fame. This year three Country legends made the list:  Dolly Parton with her classic 1973 hit "Jolene, Kris Kristofferson with his 1970 debut album ,and Doc Watson with his self-titled 1964 Vanguard debut album. The Recording Academy has just added 27 new titles to the Grammy Hall Of Fame. This year three Country legends made the list:  Dolly Parton with her classic 1973 hit "Jolene, Kris Kristofferson with his 1970 Monument debut album Kristofferson,and Doc Watson with his eponymous 1964 Vanguard debut album.

The list of Grammy Hall Of Fame inductees currently includes 960 recordings and is on display at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. Inductees must be at least 25 years old and exhibit qualitative or historical significance. Eligible singles and albums are reviewed annually by a special member committee of industry professionals from all branches of the recording arts, and final approval is given by The Recording Academy’s National Board Of Trustees.

Others among this year's inductees include The Rolling Stones' "Honky Tonk Women," Run-D.M.C.'s "Walk This Way," and U2's The Joshua Tree. Previous Country inductees include Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues," Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man," Loretta Lynn's "Coal Miner's Daughter," Patsy Cline's "Crazy," Willie Nelson's "Always On My Mind," and Ray Price's "Crazy Arms," just to name a few.

In addition, this year marks the Grammy Hall Of Fame's 40th anniversary. This milestone is being commemorated with the release of the Grammy Hall Of Fame Collector's Edition book, which offers in-depth insight into many of the recordings and artists represented in the Hall, including firsthand accounts of the making of many inducted recordings.
