Frequent George Strait Collaborator, Dean Dillon, Joins Randy Owen's Radio Program

The newest BMI Icon, Country songwriting legend Dean Dillon, recently visited Alabama front man Randy Owen on his nationally syndicated WestwoodOne radio show Country Gold With Randy Owen. The episode was featured last weekend on 125 stations nationwide. Continue here to learn more!

Longtime friends Dillon and Owen discussed "Changes Comin' On," which Dillon co-wrote for Alabama's quintuple-platinum selling 1982 album Mountain Music, and on the advice Owen gave Dillon when the two recorded for RCA Records. Dillon also talks about "Lead One," a song he co-wrote with Alabama's Teddy Gentry for George Strait, and discusses his favorite Alabama song.

Dean Dillon was named a BMI Icon at last month's 61st Annual BMI Country Awards in Nashville. Broadcast Music, Inc. bestows the BMI Icon honor on those who have had "a unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers." Past honorees include Tom T. Hall, Kris Kristofferson, Wille Nelson, Hank Williams, Jr., Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and others.
