For some singers, turning music off is sometimes not an option, but Chase Rice is forcing the issue this holiday season when he goes back home to spend time with his family.

"I won’t touch a guitar, and I won’t sing," he tells Roughstock. "I’ll relax and get my mind completely off music as much as I can."

That is understandable, considering the newcomer just came off a whirlwind few months of his Ready Set Roll Tour, and then in January, he will "hit it hard" once again on the road.

"We start a radio tour in mid-January, and then my life is that and touring for the rest of the year," says Rice.

So if there is no music involved in his Christmas back home in Asheville, NC, what exactly will he do?

"I’ll go home and visit family … hang out ... and hopefully watch football games all day!"
