"We always watch Christmas Vacation and Charlie Brown Christmas, that’s something we’ve done forever," Thomas Rhett tells Roughstock with a smile. "I’m sure that will take place very soon!"
For the holidays this year, Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren will spend it at their Nashville home. However, tonight -- Christmas Eve -- they will be packing an overnight bag for their annual sleepover.
"Every year we swap who's house we stay at," explains Thomas Rhett. "Last Christmas we spent the night at my Mom’s house for Christmas Eve, and this year we’ll spend the night at her mom’s house for Christmas Eve. We usually open one gift on Christmas Eve. Christmas is Lauren’s favorite time of year."
Thomas Rhett and Lauren also spent some time in Georgia visiting extended family prior to Christmas week. Some of the festivities including eating, eating and more eating, mainly foods that are also shared over Thanksgiving. Once the couple gets through this week, they are beach bound!
"Me and Lauren are going to the Bahamas on January 1 for like seven days just to kind of unwind and chill out and come back fresh," he beams. "It will be fun!"
Starting in January, Thomas Rhett will headline his own concert dates before linking up with the likes of Brantley Gilbert, Jake Owen, Miranda Lambert and Justin Moore throughout the year.
