The melody mixes a percussive beat and mandolins into an infectious bed that backs up strong lyrics which find Bannen singing about the various ways she’s gonna make a guy famous in a small town for how horrible he treated her and about the lies and cheating ways he had. Written by Sara Haze, Troy Verges & Gordie Sampson, “Famous” certainly is a 180 from the singer’s previous material and that might get some ‘traditionalist’ fans who were behind her early self-released album to wonder if she’s chasing ‘trends’ but when a song’s this good does it really matter?
