Whitney Duncan Signs New Publishing Deal; In Studio Working on New Music

Given Music Publishing, which launched last month in Nashville, has signed Country singer-songwriter Whitney Duncan, as announced yesterday by the startup publisher. Continue on here for more on the news from Whitney, who is also working on new music with a well-known production team.

"Whitney is a proven and professional writer as well as a 'Survivor,' and I very much look forward to working with her," said Sebastian. "She is a talented, gifted writer and a wonderful person, and she brings a lot to the Given Music Publishing team."

Whitney Duncan hails from the small Tennessee town of Scotts Hill, with has a population of around 900. She discovered a passion for performing from a young age, eventually making her way to Nashville and signing with Warner Bros. Records in 2008.

Duncan co-wrote every track on her 2010 Warner Bros. debut Right Road Now. She has collaborated with a wide variety of top hit songwriters, including Hillary Lindsey, Gordie Sampson, Chris Tompkins, and Kara DioGuardi, and has had her songs recorded by Country stars such as The Voice champion Danielle Bradbery. Some might also recognize Duncan from her 2011 appearance on Survivor: South Pacific where she lasted 28 days in the jungles of Samoa.

Whitney Duncan is currently working in the studio with producers Paul Worley and Lady Antellum member Dave Haywood on new music to be released in 2014.
