Things are set to get interesting in the next month or so. In addition to it being the Shopping season, there are a handful of country artists who will meet or surpass the Gold/Platinum marks with hits including Florida Georiga Line whose “Stay” is less than 130k tracks sold from scoring the duo a 4th consecutive Gold-certified (or better) single from Here’s To The Good Times. It’s this week’s best-selling country single with 51k while sitting at #2 for a second week in a row is the Keith Urban/Miranda Lambert smash “We Were Us.” The single, too, is well on its way to an eventual Gold-certifiaction (less than 170k tracks away). Sitting at #3 is the multi-week #1 hit “That’s My Kind Of Night” from Luke Bryan. Meanwhile, #4 is held down by the two week #1 hit “The Outsiders” from Eric Church. The track has now sold 231k in three weeks and there’s little doubt that it -- too -- will be at least a Gold-certified single by the time the track’s namesake album The Outsiders gets released to stores. Rounding out the Top 5 this week is the 642k selling current three-week Airplay #1 hit “Mine Would Be You” from Blake Shelton.
David Nail “Whatever She’s Got” Is The Rising Star’s Fastest-rising hit to date and is this week’s Riser of the week, jumping from #12 to #6.
With 374k sold, “Whatever She’s Got” looks like it’ls yet another potential single to surpass the Gold certification by early 2014 if the current sales pace keep up (it’s been averaging 33k a week). Last week’s #3 single, Taylor Swift’s Platinum-certified “Red,” slides down to #7 this week, followed by Cassadee Pope’s “Wasting All These Tears,” a song which has broke into the Top 20 at Country radio and will likely break the Platinum mark before she moves onto Single #2. Luke Bryan’s supurb “Drink A Beer” (written by and featuring Chris Stapleton) is #8 with sales now nearly 100k and it’s hard to envision this one failing to score at least a Gold certification once more fans hear the track. Sitting at #9 is Lady Antebellum’s “Compass,” a strong radio hit that will also benefit from Top 20 status to continue to bring the trio yet another big hit while.
Thomas Rhett “It Goes Like This” and Tyler Farr “Redneck Crazy” Certified Platinum. Cole Swindell’s Nearly-Gold “Chillin’ It” Only song in Top 30 to gain sales over last week.
This week’s big Certification is Thomas Rhett’s “It Goes Like This.” The single surpassed the Platinum mark for Thomas Rhett, the first time any song he’s written or performed has done that. It’s the lead single off of his debut album of the same name. It sits at #11 this week and is followed by Cole Swindell’s breakout hit “Chillin’ It.” Swindell’s debut single -- which began on SiriusXM The Highway before WB Nashville picked up the single and album -- has moved 424k to date and is certain to hit Gold as early as next week but likely in early December. He’ll be joined at the Gold certification mark at some point by Eli Young Band’s “Drunk Last Night,” Joe Nichols’ “Sunny And 75,” Tim McGraw’s “Southern Girl,” and Parmalee’s “Carolina.” The third single from Florida Georgia Line, “Round Here,” is likely to surpass Platinum by the end of the year 2013 as well. Other notables include the return to the top 30 of rising stars Eric Paslay with “Friday Night” and Jon Pardi’s “Up All Night.” Their record labelmates Kacey Musgraves and Dierks Bentley also are inside this week’s latest Top 30 with hits “Follow Your Arrow” and “I Hold On,” respectively.
