Country Radio Chart Report, October 1, 2013: Jason Aldean's "Night Train" His 12th #1 Hit

Jason Aldean's lucky streak continues as the superstar scores his 12th #1 hit on the country radio charts with "Night Train," the title track to his Platinum-certified album. Continue on for more details about the chart for this week, including the other songs on the Top 10.

Last week, Roughstock reported that Jason Aldean scored his 12th chart-topping hit with "Night Train." Well the singer just isn't through being king of the charts this week, as he spends his second week at No. 1 on Billboard and moves up a slot to the top position on Mediabase with the tune that also serves as the title track to his latest studio album.

"Night Train" is the third No. 1 hit to be released from the Night Train project. "When I first heard this song we were already done looking for material for this last record, but I just loved it and thought it was worth making room for," says Aldean of the song penned by Neil Thrasher and Michael Dulaney. "It seems so crazy to say that this is my 12th No. 1. I promise you each one is just as sweet as the first one."

With Aldean staying put on Billboard, other artists found below "Night Train" shift on up this week. Billy Currington's "Hey Girl" claims the No. 2 position, Thomas Rhett's "It Goes Like This" locks in No. 3, Tyler Farr's "Redneck Crazy" takes over the No. 3 slot and Luke Bryan's "That's My Kind of Night" rounds out the Top 5. Other songs in the Top 10 include Lee Brice's "Parking Lot Party," Tim McGraw's "Southern Girl" and Blake Shelton's "Mine Would Be You."
