Country Album Chart News: The Week of October 2, 2013: Luke Bryan Returns To #1; Justin Moore, Chris Young Still Top Five

After two weeks away from #1, Luke Bryan returns to the pole position this week with Crash My Party and thus moving last week's #1 and #2 from Justin Moore and Chris Young to #2 and #5, respectively. Complete details of the Top 10 Country Albums for the first week of October ahead!

Luke Bryan returns to #1 with his just-certified Platinum Crash My Party. Last Week’s #1, Justin Moore’s “Off The Beaten Path” slides to #2 while Alan Jackson’s The Bluegrass Album debuts at #3.

After only two weeks away from #1, Luke Bryan returns to #1 with Crash My Party with the SoundScan Top 10 Country Albums chart. Justin Moore’s Off The Beaten Path sits at #2 after one week at #1 with a total of 122k sold to date. Alan Jackson debuts at #3 with 22k sold, by far the best week for a Bluegrass album in 2013. Keith Urban’s three-week-old Fuse has now sold 146k to date while the second single from the track, “We Were Us,” is already Top 15 in the same amount of time. Chris Young’s A.M. is at #5 this week and the “Aw Naw” singer has now sold 69k copies of the third album of his career.

Florida Georgia Line’s Platinum certified Here’s To The Good Times Leads 2nd Half of Top 10 Albums Chart.

With “Stay” set to follow-up the albums three multi-week #1 RIAA certified Platinum (or multi-platinum) singles, Florida Georgia Line’s Here’s To The Good Times sits at #6 this week with 1.12 million copies sold to date. Blake Shelton’s Based On A True Story sits at #7 this week with sales in excess of 906k for the just certified Platinum (for shipment sales from the label to stores). Billy Currington’s two-week-old We Are Tonight sits at #8 with sales now at 35k for the album featuring “Hey Girl” while Sheryl Crow’s sold 59k copies of her country debut Feels Like Home. Finally, rounding out the Top 10 is Jason Aldean with Night Train. The album’s second #1 single (and third RIAA Gold or Platinum track), the title track is at #1 for second week on the Billboard chart.

Notable Albums Include Hunter Hayes, Lady Antebellum, and Zac Brown Band.

Hunter Hayes’ self-titled/ENCORE album sold another 5k this week to lead our notable album section. The album is certified Platinum while Hunter is set to debut his first major headlining tour in a few weeks. Lady Antebellum’s Golden was announced to be receiving a deluxe edition in a couple of months but the album is nearing Gold certification and chances are the deluxe will only help it get to platinum that much sooner. Zac Brown Band’s Uncaged is nearly the seven-piece band’s third consecutive Platinum album while Little Big Town is nearing the same mark with Torando. Finally, George Strait’s latest, Love Is Everything, closes up our Top 10 albums rundown this week as the star sells out the final dates of his The Cowboy Rides Away Tour 2014.
