This week (Tuesday, September 17), Billy Currington's highly anticipated new album, We Are Tonight, will hit stores. The album's lead single, "Hey Girl," remains in heavy rotation at country radio as it inches its way closer to the top of the singles chart while continuing to win new fans over day after day.

The 10-track collection of songs is Currington's fifth studio album, and the singer says the project was designed to put a smile on the listener's face.

“I’m hoping that by the end of the day when they’re done listening to it, that they feel a sense of joy and peace and everything that I felt while we were making the album,” says Currington. “I have 10 songs on there, and they’re all, to me, happy songs. Back when we were recording the album, I had one that was kind of a sad song, a broken-heart song, and listening to the album, that was the one thing that threw me off, personally, about the album. I couldn’t get through the rest of it after I heard that one sad song. It just didn’t fit for me. So, I ejected that song and added ‘Hallelujah’ to it, which made for ten happy songs.”

We Are Tonight will also feature a duet with country music legend Willie Nelson on the track “Hard to Be a Hippie," which gives Currington just one more reason to smile when reflecting on the project.

"I have a peace and a sense of happiness when I listen to the whole project," notes Currington. "I’m hoping everyone that hears it walks away with the same feelings."
