Justin Moore Discusses New Album "Off The Beaten Path"; Album Just Released To Retail

Off The Beaten Path is the title of Justin Moore's new album and it aptly describes a singer/songwriter who is willing to stay himself and because of this he's built a loyal audience of fans and has released a pair of Gold albums. Find out more from the star about his new album and more here!

“I’m really careful about love songs and outside songs that I cut,” he explained. “I just thought this one was so me, that I was all about it. I try to find songs that are as real as possible. And all the things in this song I’ve done…or would do."

How does Moore balance out his "rough side" and his "soft side," as he sings about in "Point At You"? “I think there are songs on this album that do both,” he answers. As an example of the latter, he cites the Rodney Clawson, Chris Tompkins and Justin Weaver co-write "That's How I Know You Love Me," saying that “it’s one of the most truthful, straight-to-the-point songs about me and my wife’s relationship that I’ve ever heard. So I think that shows a bit of both.” He says the song is not only “probably my favorite song off the album,” but “probably my favorite song I’ve ever recorded.”

In describing the content of his new album, Moore says, “There’s funny songs on there, there’s beer drinking songs on there, there’s love songs on there, and depending on the day I’m one of those things. That’s why I love music in general – it can make you want to have a good time, it can make you cry, it can make you happy or sad. So the album as a whole represents where I’m at right now.” He calls the project "definitely the most diverse album I've done."

He concludes, “The balancing act is trying to figure out how to stay true to who you are, and at the same time grow, and I think that we did that on this album.”

Off The Beaten Path is in stores this week. You can catch Justin Moore live with special guests Randy Houser and Josh Thompson on the Off The Beaten Path Tour, which begins November 1 in Springfield, Missouri, and continues on into next spring.
