Country Album Chart News: The Week of September 25, 2013: Justin Moore, Chris Young lead 5 country artists in all genre Top 10

Country music singer Justin Moore remains one of the biggest stars most fans don't know about. While he scores hits and consistently sells records, He's not known as a big star yet his album sales this week suggest otherwise, outselling Chris Young and Billy Currington's new CDs. Justin Moore sells nearly 100,000 albums to score second-consecutive #1 Country album on SoundScan Top 200 Albums chart. Country Music albums make up half of Top 10 albums as Chris Young and Billy Currington also debut in Top 10.

Justin Moore has scored his best week in album sales thus far into his career with his debut album Off The Beaten Path. The album debuts at #2 on the all-genre chart wih sales of 97k, an amount that gets him one-fifth of the way to Gold certification, a mark which the rising star has achieved on each of his first two albums. Debuting at #3 on the all-genre chart is Chris Young with A.M.. Another rising Country star, Young has hit the highest spot on this chart in his career and ties the Country album chart debut mark of 22k. He sold 57k copies of the album featuring “Aw Naw” this week.

The previous 4 week #1, Luke Bryan’s Crash My Party, is at #6 with sales of 47k while last week’s chart-topping album, Keith Urban’s Fuse, slides to #8 and now has sold 129k in 2 weeks (31k this week). Finally, this week’s Country Music Top 5 is rounded out by Billy Currington’s latest album, We Are Tonight. The album, which features the Gold-selling hit “Hey Girl,” sold 26k in the debuting week.

Florida Georgia Line’s Platinum Here’s To The Good Times Leads 2nd Half of Top 10 Albums Chart

They’re multi-award nominees at this year’s upcoming CMA Awards and now Florida Georgia Line’s also ready to unleash the first ballad in their career from this week’s #6 album Here’s To The Good Times. The new single “Stay” follows multi-week #1 hits “Cruise” “Get Your Shine On” and “Round Here.” Right behind FGL is Sheryl Crow’s Feels Like Home, last week’s #3 album. Crow’s labelmate Blake Shelton is next with Based On A True Story. Sitting at #9 is Jason Aldean’s Night Train. Rounding out the Top 10 is Taylor Swift’s RED.

Notable albums include Alabama & Friends, Hard 2 Love, Hunter Hayes/Encore, Same Trailer Different Park and High Cotton: A Tribute TO Alabama.

This week’s notables starts with Alabama & Friends, the multi-artist major label artist compilation toasting Alabama and ends with High Cotton: A Tribute To Alablama, a collection which is from indie and Americana genre aritsts toasting Alabama. In between these albums we find Hunter Hayes’ self-titled platinum-certified debut, Lee Brice’s Gold-eligible Hard 2 Love and Kacey Musgraves’ CMA Awards nominated Same Trailer Different Park.
