Single Review: Brad Paisley - I Can't Change The World

In this review, we discuss "I Can't Change the World," the third single from Brad Paisley's 2013 Album Wheelhouse. The single follows-up the Successful "Southern Comfort Zone" and Gold-certified "Beat This Summer." Read on to find out what we think of "I Can't Change The World" here!

With the title of the new ballad, “I Can’t Change The World,” we were expecting the West Virginia native to try and go for profoundness again, or at least a Garth Brooks’ “The Change” type message. But instead, it’s exactly like a ballad version of his 2006 hit, “The World.” With that song, he was telling his love interest that she may not matter to the world, but she means everything to him.

Now, he shifts the perspective and says he can’t change the world, but he can change the love interest’s world, presumably for the better.  Most people want to know how they can impact the world, even if it’s their small corner of it. And this is an introspective view of one man finding solace in the fact that he can make a person’s life better.

It’s not much different than many of Paisley’s other ballads. He delivers it with some good acoustic guitar, strong vocals and a nice, slow melody. "I Can't Change The World" is a nice-addition to his singles from Wheelhouse and will likely do just as well, even if it's not as profound as the title suggests.
